We had a blast bringing back TosaFest 5K on Saturday and hope you enjoyed the race too. Nearly 230 people registered to run with us, and not one was stopped by a train. You can check out the full results here.
MKE Runs formed because some of us were surprised TosaFest 5K, a longtime favorite, went on hiatus in 2017, and we thought it deserved another shot. Will it return in 2019? Well, that partly depends on whether our runners want it back.
We're interested in presenting more fun races to the local running community, including TosaFest 5K, but we want to make sure we're giving you want you want. You can help us chart our course by sending us your feedback about Saturday's race and any ideas you have about new races.
And because we want MKE Runs to reflect the running community, let us know if you would like to help plan the Milwaukee area's next exciting new race.
Thanks to Zack Goehner, who designed our TosaFest 5K logo and T-shirts. If you want to purchase additional race shirts or are interested in adding one of our red shirts to your wardrobe, visit our gear store. All our gear is produced by Jim Phillips LLC, another great local business.
Our charity partner, Wings of Glory Track Club, turned out in a big way to help fill our volunteer roles, and we will have an update soon on the amount of money raised by the race to support this great program of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee.
And finally, a big thank you to our top sponsors, Metcalfe's Market, WaterStone Bank and Toshiba America Energy Systems, along with Performance Running Outfitters, which provided promotional support and hosted our early-bird packet pickup.
